Eh, this was originally going to be a
livid journal about some utter
assholes I encountered today (indirectly, but it still just makes me furious...) But! I still have homework to get done, and I want a clear head when I write up that one.
Instead, I'm going to share a little piece of my past life in middle school hell with you. It was a rare shining moment then and I'm so happy to have found it again

Backstory: Let's see, according to the timestamps, it was late October 2006. On that particular day in my 8th grade physical science class we had a substitute. For some reason that for the life of me I cannot remember, the class was reading, online, a poem titled "Fog" by Carl Sandberg:
"The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on."
Simple, and in my opinion, pretty (though why this was done in a science class I honestly have no clue...) Anyway, the website we were reading it through happened to be a wordpress blog, and like most blogs it had comments enabled. Now, think about that for a moment: a classroom full of extremely bored, immature kids with laptops reading a (to them) pointless and boring poem. And here is this inviting window to leave a comment. It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to think of the kind of chaos that ensued.
And, me being me and having an anonymous medium through which to achieve my purposes...
I fought back.
And understand, again, this is a classroom full of 20-30 odd middle school kids, most of whom have degraded me in one way or another before, most of them repeatedly. Add that to the fact that I just love to give spammers a nice kick to the nards, and I was out with all guns blazing. And hot damn! It was fun to finally stick it to them

It was especially fun when they saw this random person telling them to stop being brats and to get back to their classwork (This was the middle of school for goodness sake!) while also hilariously counter attacking their pathetic little comebacks, and then seeing them scurrying around the room going "Dragoness? Dragoness anyone? Who's Dragoness?"
Yes, I've been using this nickname for that long XDI just sat like innocent little me and tried
really hard not to grin.
Eventually, the webmaster noticed the huge amount of crap turning up on his page (Oh his poor inbox...) and he disabled comments (producing more funny reactions from the kids when they realized they couldn't crap around anymore.)
And finally, Mr. Rexton, the man's wordpress username, preserved this wonderful event of my childhood in this entry the next day:
[link]Here's a link to the actual page where the attack happened. Though Mr. Rexton deleted nearly all of the very many comments, there are some scraps on there that are nice to see again.
[link]In conclusion, it is proven that my love of being a moderator has been ingrained into my being since childhood (Ok, since three years ago anyway... it feels like a LOT longer though. I mean, damn,
middle school. Every time I think about it I find that most of my memories have been blocked besides those involving certain people and events.)
Hope you enjoyed my little nostalgia

I even e-mailed Mr. Rexton again to say Hi ^_^
